AVIRI INC.
Aviri was founded
in April 2000 by Bijoy Goswami and Bruce
Krysiak.
As the co-founders worked through many possibilities, they were intrigued
with the area of knowledge management (KM). First, the impetus and goal
of KM was intuitively compelling as argued by Peter Drucker, knowledge
is the competitive advantage for individuals, corporations and nations
in the next century. Second, and more importantly, in spite of numerous
efforts in corporate America over the last ten years, KM had not fulfilled
on its promise; something was missing.
Based on extensive study of published research on human and organizational
behavior and the driving forces behind social phenomena (see publications),
Aviri arrived at a simple, yet fundamental insight people
were absent in knowledge management. The very term led practitioners
away from people and into documents, technologies and processes.
Aviri (which means to blossom) has since moved away from Knowledge
Management. Rather, its mission is to bring people-centered innovation
to entrepreneurs, teams and organizations.
Bruce is no longer
with Aviri, but continues to advise the company.
